This is a very pretty black on black silk cocktail dress or tea dress.  The dress is patterned with black polka dots on a black background. The polka dots add a splash of whimsey to this very dramatic black silk evening dress.  The sleeveless dress has a low cut ruffled neckline.  The neckline will need a little attention before this is worn, as the encased elastic used to create the ruffles has lost its stretch and will need replacement.  I believe the dress probably had some type of silk wrap around the waist. I was unable to locate the original, but am including a silk sash that you can work with.  The dress is photographed with the sash wound around the waist and pinned in place. It should be pretty straight forward to create a new sash or waist wrap for the dress using the sash that is included. Lastly, there are a few very tiny pinholes in the silk.  These are minimal, and visible only when the fabric is held up to light.  The fabric still feels quite strong.  There is a talon zipper on the left side of the bodice that still operates smoothly.  You can change the silhouette by adding a crinoline slip, or not. Either way the dress is lovely. This is a beautiful and classic vintage "Little Black Dress"!  A string of pearls or perhaps a rhinestone choker or necklace would complete the vintage chic look perfectly.   The dress is shown on a size 4-6 mannequin.
