This listing is for a Mini cooper JCW style Genuine Carbon Fiber Handbrake and Gear Knob replacement . These items are made from Titanium and 100% carbon fiber and are NOT the cheaper carbon fiber effect.

Product Description

With everything needed to fit, attaching the gear knob and handbrake is a simple swap which takes a few minutes. Fitting instructions (handbrake)

1. Place a flat blade screw driver between the handle grip and the front silver plastic.
2. Carefully pop off this silver plastic trim.
3. Lift the black tab that secures the remainder of the handbrake to the metal shaft.
4. Slide the handbrake off the shaft. 
5. Repeat these steps backwards with the replacement JCW handbrake.
6. Use the 4 grub screws to attach the new handbrake firmly to the shaft.
7. Some cars may require glue or tape to further secure the new handbrake to the shaft.

Although this is an easy part to fit, we always recommend professional installation.

Fitting instructions (gear knob)

1. Remove the round trim at the base of the gear stick and put aside.
2. Gently dislodge the gear gaiter mounts which protrude by pushing them down.
3. Once done remove and lift the gear gaiter over the gear knob to reveal a cable tie.
4. Cut the tie and slide the gear gaiter down fully revealing the gear knob. 
5. Remove the old and replace with the carbon fiber gearknob, securing it to the shaft using the 8 grub screws and allen key provided.
6. Repeat steps 1-4 backwards firstly attaching the gear gaiter with a new cable tie (included).
7. Some cars may require glue or tape to further secure the new handbrake to the shaft.

Although this is an easy part to fit, we always recommend professional installation.
