*This card is rare and guaranteed to be from the original 1994 edition (self published by the artist). Printed and fabricated by Vandercraft, Prineville, Ore.
Up for bid is a very collectible multiple by the acclaimed American artist JENNY HOLZER.
In 1994, Holzer self-published her first edition of the well known set
of 17 screenprint postcards. In 2000, a 2nd edition (identical in
title/size) was published by Fotofolio/Artpost. In 2018, Printed Matter
published a 3rd edition of 16 cards (slightly different size with 3 retired titles and 2 new
titles). All phrases for these cards come from her Truisms series
(1977-1979) and the
Survival Series (1983-1985).
The front and back of the card is
screenprinted in red ink onto 1/8" birch veneer balsa wood, and measures
3.5" x 5.5" (9.0 cm x 14.0 cm). It is in excellent vintage condition with minor edge wear as shown.
Please see my other auctions for more examples from the series.
