You are bidding on a classic dollhouse or room box framed artwork, perfect for the 1:12 scale miniature setting.   The image is an ~80 Year old cigarette card (a.k.a. tobacco card) issued in 1936 by JOHN PLAYER & SONS (UK), depicting the “H.M.S. VANGUARD” launched in 1835.

Unlike modern, computer generated images, these cards are miniature works of art, with a patina and richness that only comes with being in existence for over 80 years.  The condition of the card is Very Good and it is framed in an exquisite, brand new artist-made frame. 

The series is titled:   OLD NAVAL PRINTS.  The image up for auction is No. 20 of 25 THE "H.M.S. VANGUARD" launched in 1835, AN 80-gun two-decker.  

The back of the card contains a brief history of the depicted naval vessel.

Frame:  Designed and Handcrafted by Artist Jim Coates.   It is cast in a hard resin, displaying very sharp and crisp detail, finished in a painted gold patina

Dimensions:   The outside dimensions are 3" by 3 1/2" and the inside measures 2 11/16" by 2 3/16" (approximately).
