Antique ironstone white platter with a raised wheat and ribs-and-scallops pattern is by Elsmore and Forster, which was in business 1853-1871 in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Measures about 13 3/8" wide by 10 5/8" front to back by 1 1/4" high. In good antique condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Rim has areas of discoloration and shelf-life rough spots where the platter has spent decades standing on edge on hard surfaces. The glaze has areas of discoloration/fading on the front and back and there are some utensil marks. The bottom has an impressed mark in addition to the following mark in black: Warranted Ironstone China [crown, globe and lions] [writing I can't figure out] Elsmore & Forster.
