PARTS ONLY - NOT A COMPLETE PAIR OF SUNGLASSES!

Vintage B&L Ray Ban Auburn DGM Blazer Ski Sport Sunglasses Replacement Lenses & Acetate Face Frame

True vintage B&L Ray-Ban Bausch & Lomb USA Blazer sport sunglasses model replacement components circa 1970’s. Made in USA. New and never worn (NOS), but have minor imperfections from 50+ years of storage as noted in description below and shown in photos.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Face frame is missing a metal hinge component. No temples are included. Lenses can be removed by heating the face frame. See an optician for this service if you wish to preserve the acetate face frame for future use. This service is usually free of charge. An optician would also be able to add a metal hinge component (for a fee).

RayBan Bausch & Lomb dark auburn brown DGM mineral glass lenses. The lenses are made from pure optical glass and are ground and polished to precision-optics standards. Pre-B&L etching, non-prescription and ready for wear with 100% UV protection. The exterior features a double gradient mirror (DGM) in silver. The interior features a mirrored coating in an auburn (dark maroon-brown).

This is one of the darkest lenses manufactured by B&L Ray-Ban. The interior mirror feature for added UVA / UVB protection and incoming glare reflection can only be found on a select few other vintage B&L Ray-Ban sunglass models (Deep Freeze, Timberline Ambermatic, Powderhorn TGM).

There may be hairline (short and light) scratches and/or pinpricks from storage. None of note were observed.

Retro cool acetate/nylon frame features layers of coordinating hues. Face frame is chocolate brown, off-white/ivory, cinnamon brown, and walnut brown.

There are minor hairline scratches to the acetate frame. No temples or screws are included and a metal hinge component would have to be added if you plan to use the face frame.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

Fit:

I recommend a custom fitting with an optician, optometrist, or other equivalent. The temples can be heated up to provide you with an optimal, customized fit. Lenses can also be replaced with prescription lenses. Do not attempt to make adjustments on your own! If done improperly you can cause irreparable damage. I don’t take returns and especially cannot be of assistance if any adjustments (professional or otherwise) have been made or attempted.

Cleaning and Care:

I recommend using a hard or semi-hard case for storage and optimal protection. Rinse glasses with cool water if they become dusty and allow them to dry before cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth and lens cleaner. Never clean with a dry cloth alone. Do not leave sunglasses in direct sunlight and/or extreme temperatures for extended periods of time, such as a car glovebox. Hinges and emblems may be polished with a silver polishing cloth. They may be lubricated with WD-40 if needed.

Condition:

These are vintage sunglasses and my family has been the only owner. They are not perfect. Do not expect perfection or you will be disappointed. They are 50+ years old and are in excellent vintage condition. They have never been worn. You should still have a proper fitting by an eye specialist. Condition is subjective and based on my personal expertise, but is still an opinion nonetheless. Evaluation of condition takes into consideration the condition of a given pair relative to others of the same or similar model, from the same time period and brand.

Please also note that there may be glare and reflection spots in the photos. Photos taken indoors in natural sunlight and/or under white ring light. Colors may differ slightly in real life due to differences in device/monitor settings and lighting conditions. (And of course, if the lenses have photochromatic properties, this will play a role in how the lenses appear at any given point in time!)
