The Millionaire collection... Visconti says....

MILLIONAIRE COLLECTION

The name Visconti has been synonymous with luxury from day one.

Right from the word go Visconti has been creating pens that are absolutely matchless in terms of their materials and accessories, from precious celluloid to delicate gold and silver inlay.

For the first time in the history of writing, Visconti's Millionaire project has been inspired by the use of marble, one of the most luxurious materials in the world, as both a decorative and a functional element.

Over 3,000 years, from the splendid buildings of ancient Greece, through the glory of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance right down to the lobbies of the world's leading hotels today, marble has always been used as a decorative element symbolising pure beauty, opulence and abundance.

Overt luxury unashamedly displayed, where discretion is certainly not the better part of valour!

Marble, known as the "gleaming stone", had never been used to make writing instruments before now, on account both of the difficulties inherent in working with it and of its intrinsic fragility.

With the assistance of the skilled artisans with whom it has the privilege to work, Visconti has succeeded in grinding marble to an infinitesimal thickness and at the same time it has brilliantly resolved the problem of the material's fragility thanks to the advanced technology developed in its workshop.

The Material

Millionaire's cap and barrel are both made of marble carved out of a slab 3 cm. thick.

For marble to be used in the manufacture of a pen, it cannot have any cracks, it has to be structurally sound, and its marbling must be patterned in such a given way as to ensure that the pen enjoys uniformity.

The marble is first sawn into square bars, then hollowed out internally, reinforced, turned on the lathe to the required size and finally polished.

Thicknesses have been calculated to ensure that the pen's final weight is correct and that it conforms to standards of comfort for daily use.

We have chosen four types of marble whose specifications are best suited to the manufacture of pens:  Portoro Black; Issoire Green from the Alps; Valencia Cream; and Rain Forest Brown.

All parts servicing and supporting the marble are made of resin and turned on the lathe from full bars, as always.

This is a beautiful pen from a truly wonderful pen manufacturer. Mint in special Visconti wooden box with ID card, roller ball section and refill for conversion to a roller ball pen, and warranty booklet.      Approximate dimensions... length closed is  14.5 cm, length open is 13.2 cm, width at widest point on cap is 1.7cm, and weight empty is 60g.  Group photos are for illustrative purposes only.  One fountain pen is being supplied (with roller conversion kit).  The pen to be shipped will differ from that shown in the photos, as the marble veining and colour texture varies quite markedly from pen to pen.

International buyers, please note that the listed item price and shipping cost do not include import duties, taxes, and related charges.  The buyer is responsible for these charges.  Before bidding/buying, please check with your local customs or other responsible office for information on these charges.

We ship internationally by express courier (DHL, UPS or FEDEX), and domestically by TNT Express, to your physical location, and not to any PO Boxes or like delivery points.
From time to time, we may change our selection of courier for delivery of your item in order to ensure a cost-effective service, and having regard to your particular location, those couriers who have better coverage in your area, any local regulatory controls, and other factors.

If the buyer's eBay and/or PayPal address information is, in our opinion, ambiguous or incomplete, we will not ship until the buyer has provided us complete address information.  In this way we can minimize risk of non-delivery.  If this additional information is not provided within 2 days of purchase, we will cancel the transaction, and reimburse any paid monies.  For apartment or unit dwellers, we will require the buyer's address record to clearly state the apartment or unit number, separately from the street number, for example, "100 John Street, Apartment 222" or "100 John Street, Unit 222".  Descriptions such as "222-100 John Street", or "100/222 John Street", or similar, are considered ambiguous and shipping will not occur, in accordance with the above.

Thank you for your cooperation in making my service efficient and relatively free of risk.

Combined Shipping Discount

I offer a combined shipping discount for multiple listed items, but only in circumstances whereby the multiple items are being purchased on one and same invoice/transaction showing the reduced/adjusted combined shipping rate. This requires the buyer to request a total for multiple purchases prior to payment, or to defer payment after the multiple item purchase commitments are made, prior to payment, so that I can make the necessary adjustment to the invoice and submit it to the buyer for payment.

If you do not know how to request a total, or are unable to defer payment when the purchase commitment is made, please refer to eBay and its online instructions.

I do not offer combined shipping discounts for items purchased separately, and/or outside the procedure outlined above.

The reason for this policy relates to the fact that eBay as a matter of course does not automatically retrospectively refund seller fees/commission expenses for retrospective shipping expense adjustments on separately purchased/paid-for items, leaving the seller with the administrative burden and related expense of claiming rebates at a later date via a cumbersome procedure.

Shipping and other delays may occur

While we will make every endeavour to dispatch this item in a timely fashion, delays with couriers/postal agencies, as well as import authorities (eg. Customs) in the buyer’s country, can occur and these delays can be up to weeks, if not months (as may be experienced with recent world-wide events). In buying this item, the Buyer is acknowledging that such delays may occur, and are out of the Seller’s control, and the Seller is not responsible for them.

An important note regarding the nib and writing performance of this fountain pen

A fountain pen nib can be a joy to write with, provided it has been tuned properly. Unfortunately factory settings are not optimal for some fountain pens that are new "out of the box", and occasionally tuning is required.  Your pen, once purchased, will be checked by us prior to sending.  It may need some tuning.

After purchase and before sending each fountain pen, whether a gold, palladium, steel or other metal nib, I will test the nib unit with ink, and check (and adjust as necessary) to ensure it writes correctly. Then I will wash the nib unit and dry it. In this way I can be sure the pen will write correctly........ BUT sometimes there some residual water/ink will find its way down the feeder during courier air travel.

If the buyer prefers this procedure not be undertaken, a message to that effect should be left with the order. However, in such circumstances the writing performance shall not be warranted, and I will not accept returns on account of the writing performance of the nib, or the presence of residual fluid around the nib/feeder.
