Description: First edition, first printing in original pictorial red cloth over boards with the image of a woman in a dress, title, and author's name inside a frame (all dark) on the front and gilded lettering on spine. The spine is slightly sunned, corners with very slight wear. Pencil notes on front pastdown and ffep. All edges deckled or rought cut with some spotting. The interior is evenly toned with spotting to title page, and infrequent spotting elsewhere. Book slightly split at cernter with sewing visibile, but fully holding. A good+ copy of this rare printing from the author of "The Beetle" and other mystery, horror, thriller, romantic novels of the late 19th and early 20th century. Complete with 34 pages of advertisments at the back. Richard Marsh is the pseudonym of British author Richard Bernard Heldmann.
