A magnificent marionettes/ wooden puppet comes from Burmese folklore 20th century, the costume is embroidered by hand, elaborate costume made of sequins, gold and glass trim. Marionette is made of wood with moveable joints for puppet movement, the part for handle strings is wooden. Yoke Thay (Myanmar Marionettes) is the traditional string puppets of Myanmar. It is wooden marionettes manipulated by means of strings. 

In those days of Myanmar kings, it was known as Ah-Myint-Tha-Bin which literally means performance on the high level. Myanmar Marionette enjoyed the rare and powerful privilege of being the voices of both king and common man. It was not only for entertainment, but also a highly esteemed art for all classes.
