The emulator simulates that the seat
occupancy sensor (seat mat) works
correctly and that the seat is always
occupied. It sends to an airbag control
unit the same signal as that sent by seat
mat while a passenger is sitting.
The emulator is the diagnostic device to test correctness of car installation working and to make sure that the error displayed on a dashboard is caused by a faulty seat occupancy sensor
Problem Appeared
Airbag and seat belt warning lights are on or
there's a message "Passenger restraint system fault"
and diagnostic computer shows that the seat
occupancy sensor is faulty.

- Turn the ignition off.
- Find the seat occupancy sensor plug
under the passenger seat.
- Disconnect the mat plug and replace it with the emulator's plug.
- Install the seat belt emulator.
- Turn the ignition on. If the srs/airbag warning light is on, reset the code using proper diagnostic software.

Problem solved

system works normally and passenger airbag
