This is one for the true Doctor Who collectors!

This is a rare, hard-to-find hardcover format first edition of Doctor Who: Terror of the Vervoids, an adaptation from the 23rd season of Doctor Who, The Trial of a Time Lord, with the 6th Doctor played by Colin Baker. This was published in 1987 by W.H. Allen and written by Pip and Jane Baker. Be sure to read the full condition description and study the photos. You likely will never find another copy in this good condition again! There is no dust jacket, as published.

This is a novel published as a TV series adaptation. I'm not sure what age group it would be intended for, but I'd guess young adult.

More details from the copyright page:

The BBC producer of The Vervoids was John Nathan Turner, and the director was Chris Clough

The role of the Doctor was played by Colin Baker.

Back blurb:

The Time Lords have brought the Doctor to trial, accusing him of gross interference in the affairs of other planets. If he is found guilty he must forfeit all his remaining regenerations.

In his defence the Doctor tells of an adventure set on board the Hyperion III space liner in his future. Answering a distress call, the Doctor and Mel arrive on the liner just as a series of grisly murders begins.

Who is behind the murders? Do the enigmatic Mogarians have anything to do with them? Who sent the distress call to the TARDIS? And what hideous menace lies waiting in the Hydroponic Centre?

A NOTE ABOUT THE COVER ART: I think the front cover illustration is quite provocative, to say the least! Was this a highly controversial book cover in the Doctor Who world? I'm not sure. But the obvious similarity to female anatomy is undeniable. Regardless, the hardcover format seems to be quite rare and sought-after.
