Gilt bronze, of heavy proportions. Size 10 with 2.7mm deeply rounded band expanding dramatically to the depressed medial lenticular top or bezel. The medial with a series of seven punches or dots from one side to just past the middle indicating that they were a tally of some sort, inscribed one at a time. Perhaps marking voyages or even kills. A well documented form but the only actual example we have encountered. The surface lightly textured from burial. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and it comes with certification of authenticity, and gift box.
