Associated Fireman's Insurance Co. of Baltimore, MD Fire Mark  Cast Iron Plaque

Very good ~ Normal wear
Measures 11-3/8" x 8-3/4" x 3/8"
The cast iron oval mark has a raised edge border, and raised central image of a fireman rushing to a fire blowing a bugle and holding a torch.
Associated Firemen's operated from 1847 until 1899, when it was absorbed into the Fidelity Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore
#378 on back
It displays very nicely and would make a great addition to anyone's advertising collection.
American insurance company's fire marks were placed on the exterior of a house and were intended to discourage malicious arson by showing that the owner would not greatly suffer if the building were destroyed.
Additionally, the mark stood as a guarantee to fire brigades that the insurance company which insured the house in question would reward handsomely the brigade extinguishing a blaze on the premises.

I have two of this plaque. The first one sold will be the first set of pictures.
