The
"JOB" poster is one of the most famous creations of
Alphonse Mucha, a major Art Nouveau artist. Made in 1896 to
promote JOB cigarettes, it features an elegant woman wrapped in a
dress in shades of white and gold. The characteristic floral
motifs of Art Nouveau are present, with curved and organic lines.
The typography is cleverly integrated, forming a circle around the
woman's head with the word "JOB".
This
poster was a great commercial success and reinforced Mucha's fame.
Today, it is considered an iconic work by the artist and is
exhibited in museums around the world.
