This listing is for a four-piece dining set by Gien of France. This fabulous blue and white pattern has a monogram initial in each piece – which spells out G-I-E-N in the Gien filet blue style! Hooray for celebrating oneself in such a beautiful way. I purchased these years ago at a fine jewelry store that carries china and fine gifts in addition to jewelry. They were never used. My daughter’s initial is E, so I was after the bowl in the set. Never used; never displayed. So here it is! This set and pattern are rarely listed. Included here is a dinner plate (initial G), salad plate (initial I), cereal bowl (initial E) and coffee/tea mug (initial N). A lovely scrolling design in blue adorns each piece. The outer edge of each is scalloped. The dinner plate measures 10 3/4” in diameter, the salad size plate is 9” in diameter, the cereal bowl measures 6 3/4” in diameter and is approximately 1 3/4” deep, and the mug/cup has an opening that is 3” in diameter and it stands 3 3/4” tall. This is such a lovely, elegant pattern it can be dressed up or kept casual. Each piece is marked, “Gien France.” There is a chip near the handle on the coffee/tea mug and a hairline crack on the opposite side of the handle. See photo. Other than that noted casualty, there are no chips, cracks, or repairs to these items. They are in excellent condition. Please see all photos to supplement this description.
