1055+ Carbon Steel Dadao Sword, blade by Cold Steel (stamped above the handle). 38 inches total length with a 26 inch lanyard... very substantial at just a few ounces shy of 3 pounds (without the sheath). The entire length is one single piece of steel with the handle encased in high impact polymer and then wrapped in military spec paracord... 24.75 inches of blade, from the bottom of the handguards to tip, just over 10 inches of wrapped grip, and a bottom ring almost 2.5 inches in diameter. The blade is about 2 inches wide near the handle and gets up to almost 3.5 inches wide near the tip, about the same thickness of a katana and other swords (about 3mm) and very sharp. The paracord is military spec. 550 7-strand, the jackets woven in Japanese Diamond patterns of Goldenrod and black and Midnight blue and sky blue. The lanyard is 26 inches (not including the tassel), 3 strand cotton rope woven with a shell of colorful satin nylon thread... very strong with a reinforced nylon tassel for quick tying. Includes the heavy duty nylon sheath shown. Proudly built from a Cold Steel blade by Jesse at Karbon Steele.

Most of the blade is sealed in a tough black baked on, rust proof finish, but the exposed edge will need to be occasionally cleaned with mineral oil to prevent rusting... especially after use or sharpening. A whetstone works for sharpening, but most of the time a fairly steady hand and an accusharp work just as well. If you happen to scratch the black finish, it should cover up easily with a sharpie. Be very careful, this blade is very sharp and heavy... please use common sense and never skip safety precautions (I have learned that lesson the hard way and have the scars to remember).
