Type: Armour-Plated Floating Battery Category: Navy Country: Russia, 1866 Scale: 1:200 Volume: 18 х А4 Guidance in English The armour-plated battery “Kreml” is an armour-plated floating battery of the Russian Imperial Fleet. It was laid down on the shipbuilding yard in St. Petersburg on December 1, 1864. On March 14, 1865, it was launched. “Kreml” was enlisted in 1867. In May 1865, during the passage from Kronshtadt to Revel “Kreml” appeared in the severe storm. As the result, the steam machine of the armour-plated battery as well as the ship’s hull was damaged. The ship captain made a decision to lead the ship under sails to the sandbank in the creek Kunda, where the ship sank. Soon “Kreml” was refloated and towed to Kronshtadt for repairing. On October 12, 1905, “Kreml” was excluded from the fleet list. In 1908 it was scrapped. This model can be recommended for advanced model-makers. Although it is small, but it is rich in rather big quantity of tiny details. It has surface-reverse printing and also printing with a bronze paint.
