We believe the use of natural and herbal remedies is what has helped our animal residents stay healthy. We recognize the need for veterinary care, however, there are natural grown herbs, flowers, and produce that can help bolster many animal's immune systems keeping them in excellent shape.

All the herb mixes we sell, we also use here at the Sanctuary. We are able to grow many of the herbs on-site. If not grown here on the farm, we make every effort to find quality, organic herbs. These herb blends have been carefully and thoughtfully crafted by a Registered Herbalist for the upmost benefit to our rescued farm animals. We hope you see the benefit they can provide to your livestock whether you have a large herd of goats or just a few chickens that you want the best for.

Unlike medications, herbs sometimes take more time to benefit the animal. It is wise to start a regiment of daily herbs on a consistent level so that the benefits build in your livestock animal's system and produce the best results for you and your valued goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, rabbits etc. The tradeoff is an extremely low occurrence of side effects (if any) and you do not usually have to stop any consumption of eggs, milk, or meat on your part if that is something you do.

_____Chicken Parasite Assist 8 Oz $20

Contains a proprietary blend of herbs. Wormwood, black licorice root & black walnut hull & D.E. all assist, in the correct amounts, to help the body cleanse internal parasites. Also can deter mites and lice. Includes probiotics, oregano and ginger to help with digestion as some parasite ridding herbs can be tough on the digestion system. Plus other herbs to help boost system after dealing with worms.

*If carrying a heavy or persistent worm load, go to your vet first! These herbs only help their system become inhospitable to worms and works for routine maintenance when no heavy load of worms is suspected.

Directions: To assist with a small worm load or for routine schedule of de-worming use as follows. One half Tsp per chicken daily for the first week. You can add to feed or mix in water. If mixing in water, use only enough water for them to typically drink in 1 day. Use fresh water and a fresh dosage of herbs each day. The herbs will eventually settle in the bottom of waterer, so I suggest sprinkling over feed if possible. If only treating 1 chicken, best to feed separately to make sure they are getting the herb. It will not hurt to feed these herbs to all chickens even if you think only one has a parasite issue.

As long as you are convinced that all chickens have had a good dose the first week, you can drop the dosage to one half Tsp per every two chickens for week 2. If you are concerned that there still might be an issue, leave the dosage at 1/2 Tsp per Chicken for another few days to a week and then drop. 

As long as no signs of continued parasites, on the 3rd week it is best to switch to the Daily chicken herbs to help continue to ward off parasites and provide many other health benefits. You can switch back to the Parasite Assist any time you think there is an issue or if you notice the Chickens combs getting pale.

Suggested every 2 months add the Parasite Assist Herbs at 1/2 Tsp along with the Chicken Daily Herbs for a week and then back to Daily Herbs. Remember to see your vet with any parasite issues that concern you or continue.
