Rotheca myricoides ‘Ugandense’, or Blue butterfly bush, is a low maintenance, suckering, evergreen shrub in the Lamiaceae family that is native to tropical eastern Africa.

As its common name implies, the plant displays violet-blue flowers that resemble a butterfly in flight.
