Authentic jianzhan jian-ware wujin handmade teacup, beautiful glaze drips and elegant shape!

This teacup was handmade with traditional Jianzhan high iron clay and glaze that could only be found in Jianyang, Jian ware's home town. Its glaze pattern is called Wujin (乌金), one of the most classic traditional Jianzhan patterns. It literally means black and golden glitter; it appears to be mainly black but there are countless little shinning spots when it is under light.

Signature scratched: In Jianyang, masters check out every piece when they unload the kiln. Once they decided that certain pieces are decent but do not meet their standards, they scratch the bottoms so their signature cannot be seen, and their special dealers will sell these at a discount price without mentioning the maker's name. This one was wood fired by a master; it has elegant shape and it achieved beautiful glaze drips. However the master was not happy that there is not as much glitters as he wanted, so he scratched this one.
