This is an exceptional Wedding Dress. I think it dates to the 1950's.  It was discovered in its original Box. I've had it for years after finding it stored in a trunk after a house move!

It comprises a strapless Gown with a boned and ruched Bodice and stiff petticoats  which give it a beautiful 'A' Line shape without the skirt being overly full. There is a silky satin like fabric over the stiff (calico?) petticoat which can be seen through the lace (the lace itself is fairly stiff). Very simple and elegant. The gown holds it shape well and is stunning! I have carefully pinned it to the manequin to give you an idea of 'its look'!

It has a matching long sleeved structured short 'boxy' jacket/Bolero which has fitted sleeves and a little collar. It is secured with a row of tiny buttons. The ensemble is in exceptional condition for its age. I cannot see any damage at all, including at the hem which although there are dirty marks (they appear to be mud/dirt) there are no holes, catches or tears that I can see. I also can't see any age marks or yellowing. The dress is completely wearable which is the main reason for its sale as its wasted hidden away in its box.

The dress does not carry any labels. I believe it is a size 8 - 10. I will post measurements shortly and pictures of its box (it originates from Leeds .and was found at a property on the Yorkshire Wolds).

There is also a wax flower Headress and a long veil.I have assumed that these might also be part of the original ensemble. They are also boxed and are listed separately.  This sale is for the Wedding Dress and Jacket only.

I wil wrap very carefully and thoughtfully using recycled materials. It will be sent in its original Box which I will double box to prevent damage.

Please do ask any questions. I will happily post further pics if required.
