California "Gold Rush" Poppies

The California poppy is the state flower of California, growing vigorously in its native zone 10, flowering in summer, and being so prolific that the cumulative bloom is visible from space. These golden beauties grow well in the ground or in containers. These plants prefer full sun and sandy, well-drained soil. They don't require fertilizer and are drought-tolerant. However, they will go dormant in excessive heat.  Deadhead for more blooms or leave seed pods on for reseeding for the next growing season.

All seeds come from open pollinated plants grown in my garden in Southern California. Please keep in mind that I grow these plants for their ornamental appeal. You, as the buyer, assume responsibility for the way in which you use these seeds.
