This is Microsoft Encarta 2000, it was the top Multimedia Encyclopedia available in 2000.

This program will not run on a modern windows 10 or 11 computer without some help. 

It will work on a windows 95 or 98 machine just fine.

So why would you want Encarta?

Maybe you're a collector, a nice sealed brand new vintage program would look good on your shelf.

Maybe you want a reference that doesn't change as the political winds blow.  I love Wikipedia, but I cant trust it.  I lived through history I clearly remember differently than they report it.   How they reported it 2 years ago and how they report it now, sometimes is vastly different.

Maybe you love vintage computers and want it one to be useful.

Or perhaps you need a reference for classwork and your school doesn't accept Wikipedia as a reference.

Any way you go, I've got several of these brand new Encarta 2000's.  I bought them at Walmart in Great Bend Kansas with the intent of giving them to family members at Christmas.  I ended up moving and they went into a box and were not found until after Christmas.
