Description
Rare antique Islamic Fatimid Green-Glazed sgraffito Earthenware Jar- Vessel, Fatimid Caliphate Egypt, 10th-12th century. A.D. (288 AH - 494 AH). The bulbous body with, flaring neck, incised with a series of vertical lines and zig-zag pattern. the shoulder adorned with incised bands of floral and palmette scrollwork motifs of typical Fatimid form, resting on a short foot. Completely covered in green lead glaze with pooling and dripping down the walls stopping short of the foot.

Condition: rim of the neck chipped, some wear and glaze flakes.
