Description: Pier Luigi Viti (Italian, Born 1950), "Il Gioco Delle Alte Sfere" (The Game of High Spheres) 1998, Surrealism Colour Aquatint Etching With Pen Drawing on Paper, 17" by 17" Inches (43 by 43 cm), Signed and dated Lower Right, and Titled Lower Left. Framed and Glazed 25.4" by 25.4" Inches (64.5 by 64.5 cm). With Descriptive Signed and Dated Label to the Verso.

For sale is an original pencil signed surrealism colour aquatint etching with pen drawing on paper titled "Il Gioco Delle Alte Sfere" (The Game of High Spheres), etched and drawn by respected Italian artist Pier Luigi Viti (Born Florence, 1950). The etching shows a surrealism scene with a solitary figure before a temple within a surrealist landscape traversed by channels along which spears roll. The image has been extend beyond the etching by the artist with additional pen drawings in the margin and on card mount. The etching is pencil signed and dated lower right by the artist, "Pier Luigi Viti, 98" (1998), and is titled lower left, "Il Gioco Delle Alte Sfere".

The image measures 17" by 17" inches, and is housed behind glass in a wood frame measuring 25.4" by 25.4" inches, with descriptive signed and dated labels to the verso. This is a genuine and authentic aquatint etching with pen drawing by Pier Luigi Viti and is one of four artworks by the artist we now have listed for sale at this link. There is a condition report below. The picture will be packed safely and shipped in a custom-made plywood box.

Artist Biography: Pier Luigi Viti (Italian, Born 1950). Pier Luigi Viti was born in 1950 in Fiesole (Florence), where he lives. He graduated from the Art Institute and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. For twenty years he taught Art Education in the Middle school and currently holds courses in drawing, painting techniques and engraving at the Institute for Art and Restoration of Palazzo Spinelli in Florence. He is a member of the historic Florentine group "Il Paiolo", which includes important personalities from the worlds of culture, politics and art. He is vice-president of the "Centro Culturale Firenze-Europa - Mario Conti" which organizes every year in November, in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, the "Premio Firenze" of letters and visual arts, which reached its 18th edition in 2000. He collaborates with critical articles and texts at the magazine "Eco dell'arte moderne" in Florence. For some years now, fascinated by the telematic and computer world, in collaboration with Riccardo Saldarelli (Co-author of the first world manifesto of Computer Art and creator of the "Bottega2000" Project) he has developed a virtual specialized space for art in the Internet.

Painter, graphic designer, and also sculptor, since 1973 he has exhibited regularly both in Italy and abroad. Particularly successful are the portraits, also of famous people, made by him.

For the "Florence Prize" he created a bronze plaque, symbolizing Florence and the Nymph Europe (1986) and a lithograph from the same subject (1987). Also in 1987, he made the edition of a representation engraving for the Municipality of Prato and created a bas-relief for the new headquarters of the Banca Nazionale dell'Agricoltura in Piazza Signoria in Florence. In 1995, in collaboration with the "Firenze-Europa" Cultural Center, he published for "Il Candelaio Edizioni" the folder of engravings "Transparencies", with poems by Anna Maria Giglio. In 1998 he was invited by "Il Candelaio Edizioni" to create a work for the graphic volume "Hanno inciso", presented in the Leonardo Room of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.

He has thirty personal exhibitions to his credit (the first, in 1976 in Florence, at the Alcyone Gallery); the main ones are that of 1977 in the Palace of Science and Technology in Stuttgart, in 1980 at the "Ateneo S. Basso" in Venice, in 1983 in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Calenzano, in 1985 at the Loggia de 'Rucellai in Florence at the invitation of the Autonomous Tourist Board, in 1987 at the Episcopal Seminary of Fiesole, in 1991 in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Rignano sull'Arno, in 1997 at the historic Caffè Giubbe Rosse in Florence, in 1998 in the Washington and Los Angeles offices of the "Art Source LA" Gallery and at the Italian Language School of Istanbul, in 1999 at the "Casa Calamai" in Treviso. Also in 1998 one of his personal pictorial and graphic works was included on the website "bottega2000.it".

There are also numerous appearances at important art exhibitions and fairs held both in Italy and abroad. Among the fairs we mention "Expo Arte" in Bari, "Diplo" in Florence, "EtruriArte" in Venturina, "Arte Expo" in Rome.

His work is included in many specialized publications and in public collections. We remember the works made for the Permanent Museum of S. Anna di Stazzema, for the Cracow National Museum (at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Warsaw), the portrait of Father Turoldo for the "Soroptimist International of Italy - Club Viareggio-Versilia "of Viareggio, for the collection of works "Tribute of contemporary artists to Giovanni Boccaccio" of the Municipality of Certaldo.

His works are permanently at the Italian language school of Tamer Gebi in Istanbul, at the "Art Source L.A. Inc." in Los Angeles and the "Primo Conti" Foundation in Fiesole.

He is a member of the international Blocco per Artisti, an itinerant art exhibition of small format works.

Documentation of his artistic activity can be found at the Kunsthistorische Institute in Florence and at the National Archive of Artistic Values ​​"ANVA" in Milan.

 
Condition: The etching is in good clean condition, the mount is age-toned with staining. The frame is age tarnished with wear and marks to the gilt finish. The photographs form part of the description, please study all the images to fully satisfy yourself as to the condition.

All our listings include a condition report, multiple photographs, and a link to higher resolution photographs in a gallery album hosted by Google. eBay greatly reduces the quality of the images displayed, so for the higher quality images follow the link in the description to the gallery album.

Returns
 
  • Returns are accepted within 60 days when:
  • Misleading Description In the unlikely event a purchase is not as described by either the description and photographic images. We will offer a full refund and (pay the return costs within the UK only). For buyers outside the UK, we will be happy to offer a partial refund on your purchase that both buyer and seller agree to be fair.
  • Damages If the item arrives damaged on delivery, we will launch a claim with the Courier. Damaged items and packaging are often required by the Courier to remain in situ with the recipient while claims are being investigated. This can take several weeks and in this instance, we can only authorise the return and pay a refund to you when the Courier investigation has completed.
  • Distance Selling Regulations Most Buy It Now purchases in the EU are covered under the Distance Selling Regulations, which give consumer buyers the right to cancel the purchase within fourteen working days after the day they receive the item. In this instance where there is no fault with the item or description, we expect the buyer to pay for the return of the purchase.
