Up for bid is a pair of fine handmade Shino glazed Japanese
pottery tea cups, for man and woman. The
man's cup is 3 1/2 inches tall by 2 ¾ inches in diameter, while the woman's cup
is 3 ¼ inches tall by 2 ½ inches in diameter.
Both have a thick, bubbly Shino glaze, blue shading to an off
white. The bodies are a rough gray
pottery with red coloring from the kiln.
The sides have horizontal ridges from the potting. Both cups have the
same circular impressed mark on the bottom.
Condition on the cups is good, with no damage. A nice pair of distinctive Japanese pottery
cups!
