In 2022, I attended the Mississippi Book Festival in Jackson, and I knew David Rae Morris (Willie's only child) was scheduled to be there to speak and to promote his new photography book. I had intended to bring this copy for him to sign, but I left it at home. I found a table at the conference that had blank name tags for a meeting, so I took one. I explained the problem to Morris and asked him to sign it so I could take it home and put it in this copy. He laughed and graciously signed my name tag. I placed it on the half-title page.
