History :

In the 11th century in northern Europe, wood- carving thrived, supported by church patronage, wealthy merchants and private patrons. The Steinbach family started their business by purchasing a timber yard and operating a wood sawmill run by steam and eventually began making nutcrackers and other fine wood products.


Did you know? Steinbach’s nutcrackers feature a stern face- it is believed that nutcrackers being good luck and ward away evil - and how best to ward off evil but with a stern face!!


This beautiful 11” in height nutcracker depicts the mad hatter at his finest! Adorned in a beautiful coat that has been lined with a cloth & design different from the exterior. A snazzy bow tie ,with leather shoes with buckles, faux fur two tone hair, hand painted with exquisite detail down to the tea pot and tea cup design!
