Antique vanity mirror triptych barber JB patented - 30 x 67 cm

Old triptych mirror in chiseled brass circa 1920s in good condition. With one broken inside mirror panel.

The cream celluloid cover impressed with an image of the Greek muse Terpsichore seated in the branches of a flowering tree holding her lyre, while Cupid floats above her tossing blossoms, opening to an unembossed cover, further opening to a triple folding mirror, the frame with an ornate curlicue finial and on short columnar feet, the whole suspended on a short chain.

One mirror cracked, the other two have minimal tarnishing to silvered surfaces and gilt metal frame. Exterior shows light wear and signs of aging, celluloid is intact and just needs to be cleaned/polished. Broken left beveled mirror can be replaced. I thought of adding artwork to the left and right panels but never got around to it.

The brass frame is superb. You can read JB patented no.328.291 on the edge. Piece can be suspended or placed on its feet.

The exterior panels are magnificent, the celluloid has a grain like look to it that cannot not be recreated today.

Each panel measures 21x27cm (32x30cm feet included), the whole deployed measures 27x67cm (30x67cm, feet included).
