This oil set contains both cold-pressed linseed and walnut oil to provide the artist with maximum possibilities when oil painting.
This cold-pressed linseed oil has been bleached with fullers earth for lighter color and is ideal for mixing with all colors for a stable and strong paint film.
This cold-pressed walnut oil is ideal for white and blue colors in particular or for use when a "slippery" paint film is desired but can be used for all colors. Walnut oil tends to yellow less than linseed oil, but it takes a bit longer to dry.
Both of these 2 oils are overall preferable to poppy and safflower oil, as they both tend not to make as stable of paint films and take exceedingly longer to dry without the use of driers.
Use these oils for the following purposes:
1. Make your own paint by mixing them with pigments.
2. Mix them with tubed paints to improve flow of the paint or extend drying time. They can also be applied to sunken sections of a painting to bring the sheen back to life.
3. Mix them with other additives to make your own paint medium.
