This hand painted piece of pyrographic art (etching wood by burning) is signed and dated 1996. It is also stamped with "Rothenburger Holzbrand-Werkstatt," which appears to be a carpentry business in Rothenburg. Plaque has slightly scalloped edges and reads "Familie Hoffsmith, Willkommen" (Welcome, Hoffsmith Family). I believe the castle depicted in the art is likely Neuschwanstein Castle (Schloss Neuschwanstein), but I can't say that for certain as my knowledge of German castles is admittedly weak. That said, the plaque measures approximately 11.5" in diameter and is approximately 37" in circumference.
