Marilyn Monroe as Theda Bara by Richard Avedon (1958) Original Vintage Poster - 23 x 28 inches / 58.5 x 71 cm

Richard Avedon photographed Marilyn on numerous occasions. This photo shoot was part of the series of photographs taken by Avedon for Life Magazine. The photographs were to accompany an article titled “Fabulous Enchantresses” where Monroe recreated five famous actresses; Lillian Russell, Theda Bara, Clara Bow, Jean Harlow, and Marlene Dietrich. The photos appeared in the Christmas issue of Life. This issue also included Miller‘s article “My Wife” which introduced Monroe’s “Fabulous Enchantresses”. These photos were also published in Italian Epoca magazine (see photo references, which are not part of the sale) 

Condition: Overall good condition. This stunning poster has some edge wear, but once you have had it matted and framed that would be covered, so it's not really an issue. Please zoom in on the photos as they're part of the description
