There are pottery cracks natural from age or production inside one egg and around sleeve (pics #9-11). No other noted flaws. Note: China Fairing is defined as small porcelain ornamental figurines often depicting a variety of scenes. Many were made in the form of trinket or jewelry boxes and often times in pairs. China fairings acquired the name because they were most often given away as prizes at European fairs during the Victorian era and remained popular until the start of WWI. Trinket boxes usually had a utilitarian purpose. They were designed to hold pins, rings, watches, or other trinkets after being taken home from the fairs. Early boxes usu- ally were not marked, but by the late 1860s they had incised or scratched numbers.
