For sale is a fine American art nouveau floral sterling match safe / vesta case by Gorham.  The case is 2 1/2 inches long by 1 5/8 inch wide and weighs 22 grams.  It has an embossed art nouveau rose floral pattern on both sides and a ribbed recessed striker on the bottom edge.  It is monogrammed “FM” on one side.  It is marked on the inner rim with the Gorham trademark, “STERLING”, and “B2199” on one side and a date code for 1907 and “PAT.APPLIED FOR” on the other.

Condition on the case is good.  There are just a few small dents and stubborn tarnish, and it closes tightly with a snap.  There is normal wear from use.  A fine old vesta case.
