Henry Gilbert (1868–1935) was a British author and historian known for his works on medieval history and literature, particularly Arthurian legends. He is best known for his retelling and adaptation of the Arthurian stories.

Gilbert’s most famous work is “King Arthur’s Knights: The Tales Retold for Boys and Girls,” published in 1911.

This book introduced young readers to the legends of King Arthur, his Knights of the Round Table, and other characters associated with the Arthurian mythos. Gilbert’s retelling aimed to make these complex and often intricate legends more accessible to a younger audience.

In addition to his work on Arthurian legends, Henry Gilbert wrote other historical and literary works. He contributed to the popularization of medieval tales and helped keep the stories of King Arthur alive in the collective imagination.

I believe this edition of “King Arthur for Boys” was published in 1930.

There is considerable toning of the pages in the book due to the paper used at that time.

The dust jacket has some tears but is generally intact. The book’s boards are in good shape. There is some slight page separation going on IFC and IBC. Binding appears good. Please see photos.
