Up for your consideration is a magnificent cranberry & clear-cut crystal smaller biscuit jar that holds 2 cups, and the cuts show cranberry colored diamond shapes, clear glass coin dots, and underneath this marvelous jar is a starburst pattern all cut into the crystal by an experienced, skilled, and talented crystal glass cutter. The lifting knob on top is cut too and has a cranberry-colored glass top on it.

Biscuit jars date back to 19th-century England where biscuits are served with tea around 10:00 AM each day a traditional that is shared by royalty and the commonplace folks alike. Today, biscuits are still served and here in America biscuits can be served any time of the day. This biscuit jar is a smaller one but will still hold a sizeable number of small biscuits in it.

A biscuit jar, like the one in this listing, would do well at the breakfast, lunch, or dinner tables and makes a nice focal point on any of these tables too. This piece dates 1950's and is considered mid-century modern as the mid-century modern period dates mid 1950's to mid 1970's.

The biscuit jar measures 7" tall X 3 3/4" in diameter across the 68 years opening at the top X 3" in diameter across the bottom, and this piece is in excellent condition as it is nearly 68 years old.
