There are 4 ears on each necklace.  The Latex Vinyl ears have been decorated to look like the decaying ears on the prop. They are connected by a heavy leather shoelace tied into a necklace.  The first and fourth ear replicas are held up with a knot in the lace.

We received these from a manufacturer close out.  Along with the box of ears (all in individual ziplock bags like you would use in your kitchen for a sandwich) was a xeroxed form of correspondence between the manufacture and AMC. (We have redacted some of the information on the form but we have included a photo of it in the listing.) Note: you will NOT receive a copy of the notice.  If you do purchase one of these necklaces you can download the image from the auction listing.

The form is dated 2015 and indicates that the items were sent to AMC for approval.  From what we understand, once they come back there are usually notes on what needs to be updated.  These may have been completely rejected.  

 The Episode where the prop can be seen is entitled "Chupacabra"t from The Walking Dead Season 2 that aired on November 13, 2011.  The Daryl Dixon character has a hallucination of his brother Merle and he ends up constructing a necklace of Walker Ears.

There are no copyright markings on these necklaces which would also indicate that they are prototypes. 

We have noticed that the necklaces that were eventually made into products were of a lesser quality construction.  

Also, the retail versions of the necklace appear from other listings to be 36" in length.  Ours are only 24" in length.  So there definitely were changes made.  We have not compared them with the retail version.

The ears measure a hair over 2" in length and are heavily distressed decorated.

This is an amazing opportunity to obtain a somewhat unique piece of Walking Dead memorabilia that is different from all the rest and it would look amazing in a shadowbox on the wall of your den, library or home office.

We have priced them very fair and they are -what we believe to be- a fantastic deal!
