Gaudy Welsh tulip pattern teacup and saucer. I have another set like this listed, I do combine shipping.
According to interpretingceramics.Com/issue013/articles/02b.htm Gaudy Welsh pieces were hardly ever marked which makes dating and attributing very difficult. The main period of production is considered 1820-1860.
Reproductions manufactured from about 1900 up to 1930 were generally marked, these being produced by the Staffordshire potteries of Allerton, Blair and Kent.
Also mentioned in this article is that the tulip pattern has eight variations of the design. Also note that the pattern has been individually outlined and painted mostly by women and children in their home hence the differences in the execution of the design.
