This group of 10 different Vintage 1940's to 1960's - mid century modern - advertising consists of unused, undamaged, coasters with advertising for various eastern Pennsylvania brewery beer brands. Enthusiasts of charming graphics graphic design and lettering as well as local history historians fans will enjoy owning these keepsakes of a more industrial, prosperous and romantic period in American 20th century history.

  • 4" - Supreme Beer with factory scene of the South Bethlehem Brewing Company, located in Bethlehem, PA. 4" square, 1/0 (blank on back side) dark blue with "A Home Favorite" across the top edge, PA-SOBT-1 (old, somewhat rare, very collectible due to age, condition and the fact that there is a "factory scene" on this one. Fun Fact: Factory scene items are always extra popular and valuable in the breweriana collecting community. PA-SOBT-1
  • 4" - Supreme Beer, with Lehigh University scene, the Hill-To-Hill Bridge landmark, and a small view of the enormously expansive Bethlehem Steel Co with railroad cars and active smokestacks. This coaster is a relatively common one from the South Bethlehem Brewing Company, located in Bethlehem, PA. 4" square, 1/0 (blank on back side) dark blue with "Famous Neighbors" across the base. Yes, back in the first half of the 20th century, this area of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania was a major industrial area. PA-SOBT-2
  • 4" - Neuweiler's Beer - Ale, with Louis F. Neuweiler's Sons, Allentown, PA encircling a patriotic red/blue shield with stars and stripes. "Both are Extra Fine" and a Union Shop "Bug" at the bottom center. Measures 4 1/8" square, 1/0 (blank on back), quite nice shape for pulp paper that has been stored away from daylight and moisture for roughly 80 years! Rather common issue from this brewery.   • 4" - Rams Head Ald Old Stock, Valley Forge Beer - Porter, all three products being marketed by the Adam Scheidt Brewing Co, from Norristown, Pennsylvnia (Montgomery County). Mostly evenly yellowed a bit from age, this coaster is unused and free of any damage.There are several variations of this coaster, shades of brown and rusty red are found. This coaster design is also available as a 3" diameter (slightly newer?) coaster. This piece of mid-century advertising measures 4 1/4" in diameter, is 1/0 (blank on the reverse side), PA-SCHE-25
  • 3 1/2" - Sunshine Premium Beer, "Put Some SUNSHINE Into Your Life" around blue band around perimeter of front, 1/2 (different printing on the back side) "102 Years of Quality, Call me "SUNNY" for short, Sunshine Brewing Co, Reading PA with Union Bug. Some offsetting of blue ink on the back side of this coaster as these were printed and stacked up before fhe ink was totally dry! PA-BARB-22 (Sunshine Brewing Co was previously known as "Barbey's Inc. until 1951. From 1951 until closing in 1970, this complany was known as Sunshine Brewing Co.)
  • 3 1/2" - Sunshine Premium Beer, very "modern" styled "sun burst" in center with orange and mustard yellow ink colors, black and mustard printing around the perimeter of this square, 1/0 (blank on back side) coaster. Sunshine Brewing Co, Reading PA with Union Bug. PA-BARB-11 (Sunshine Brewing Co was previously known as "Barbey's Inc. until 1951. From 1951 until closing in 1970, this complany was known as Sunshine Brewing Co.)

  • 3 1/2" - Kaier's Light Lager Special Beer, Chas. D. Kaier Co, Mahanoy City, PA with Union Bug. Red text, both sides (1/1) Newer, probably mid to late 1960's vintage. This brewery closed in 1966 and was brewed under Ortliebs Brewing ownership until 1968. PA-KAIE-13

  • 3 1/2" - Stegmaier Gold Medal Beer, "Ring-A-Ding-Ding" with chimpmunk holding up a goblet of beer and giving a wink. Orange printing on one side, identical graphics but in light blue ink on back side (1/2), Stegmaier Brewing Co, Wilkes-Barre, PAPA-STEG-27

  • 3 1/2" - Stegmaier Gold Medal Beer, "Go Gold Medal, Stegmaier, The Beer For People On The GO." Pretty lady with blonde hair smiling at a tall, pilsener beer glass filled with beer, maroon and yellow ink, (1/0) blank on back side, slight "yellowing" from age around the edges.   • 3 1/2" - Stegmaier Gold Medal Beer, "Take Some Home", image at top right corner of six pack of cans in cardboard holder, image at bottom left of quart and pint sized bottles. Red and yellow ink, (1/0) blank on back side. Stegmaier Brewing Co, Wilkes-Barre, PAPA-STEG-25
