1933 WORLDS FAIR CENTURY OF PROGRESS RUSTIC HAND MADE FORT DEARBORN WOOD NECKTIE RACK

This Fort Dearborn hand-crafted souvenir tie rack was part of our huge Worlds Fair and Exposition Collection. We mostly collected 1933/34 and 1939/40 items but also have many pieces from much earlier to much later Fairs. We offered the entire collection as a buy it now on eBay last Fall with no takers and have since decided to piece it out. My husband, seller named Jal12147 and I will be listing pieces till it’s all sold.

This tie rack was crafted by hand at the Century of Progress at the Fort Dearborn Exposition of a slice of rustic wood, bark included. The design includes a picture of Fort Dearborn and the words: Chicago, Ill., Fort Dearborn, Century of Progress, Chicago, 1933, all in the center. It measures 15-3/4” long and 2-1/8” at the widest center part. Holes for hanging are drilled on each end. The tie bar measures 8-1/2” long and 1-3/4” deep. It’s natural wood tone with no staining beyond red capital letters on Chicago and Ill. The condition is very good and there are no cracks in the wood.
