720/720Z vs 722/722Z Identification

  • Z series are usually black/gold (sometimes brown) - original non Z models made in a variety of colors such as blue, green
  • 720/720Z uses a brass bushing around the pinion secured by countersunk set screw (has a hole in the housing for the screw)
  • 722/722Z uses a ball bearing around the pinion, and 2 separate spacing sleeves to position the pinion correctly (no hole in housing)
  • 720 is 4:1 ratio, 722 is 5:1 ratio, meaning the number of teeth on the main and pinion gears of each reel is different
This listing is (4) blue main housing for a 720 spinfisher - overall very good condition but not perfect
