For sale is a vintage Chinese enameled brass square teapot.  It is about 4 3/4 inches long by 3 7/8 inches wide and about 6 inches tall.  It is square in form, with a flared base, square curved spout, and a bail handle with a small plaque at the apex.  The slide-in round lid has a spotted glass or stone finial.  The foot edge has a multi-colored enamel band.  The sides have applied plum stems with blossoms and blue and red stone fruit.  There is a round enamel “shou” plaque on the back.  The slide-in lid is also enameled.  It is marked “MADE IN CHINA” on the base.

Condition on the piece is fairly good.  There are the normal spots and light corrosion from age.  There are some minor enamel losses.  The plum twigs have large lumps of solder, possibly original or possibly an old repair.  A nice piece of old Chinese metalwork.
