An experimental or "Mint Sport" coin as follow:  A Bahamas $50. coin (KM48 type struck in gold), THIS PIECE STRUCK IN SILVER. On the other side (usually the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II) is a gilt or goldlike portrait of Queen Cleopatra used on several Egyptian coins (this one similar in size to Egypt KM562 gold 100 Pounds of 1984). The purpose of this coin is totally unknown to us but we sold one in our West Indies Auction 42 (May 2016) for $1250., this being the only other piece known to us. Because of its unusual nature, NGC had declined to grade the previous one but it makes no doubt in our mind that is a Mint product, likely a "Mint Sport" but eminently collectable. The condition is BU. Please see photos for detail. For the record, note we had previously sold a pattern $2500. 1974 of the Bahamas, struck in silver with a gilt finish and stamped "Sample" which was the same provenance as the one we sold previously.
