Snuff bottles are an area of collecting that has a huge demographic.

Snuff bottles originate from the Qing Dynasty when smoking tobacco in a pipe was banned.

Sniffing tobacco mixed with spices was considered medicinal and legal.

Antique snuff bottles of this type are made in bone, horn, copper and silver. But the gilt silver are the rarest and most valuable of these. The image in the photo is rare. It is not possible to find pictures of these on Google.

Fine filigree and stonework in coral and turquoise.

It stands 7.5cm tall.

Condition is perfect. Miraculously all its chains are there and unbroken. They are not replacements. The fine genuine originals.

This piece is old, a genuine period antique, not a modern decorative fake. Tibetan silver is lower grade than English sterling 925 silver, and the gold also, so this piece is tarnished and showing its age.

Something from a different time, another world.
