Antique, late 18th century three volume tree calf leatherbound set in overall very good condition. Each volume has gold gilded 'Saint John Society Library' text on front cover. Exteriors of the volumes show rubbing and some minor chipping at the outer edges of the coverboards and spine as well as numbers written in white on the lower ends of the spine. Exteriors are overall very clean. Volume two has splitting between the front cover and spine face at the hinge but the front cover is still well connected to the rest of the book via the bottom binding string and from inside front hinge via a clothbacked bookbinder's tape reinforcement. Tree calf leather on the front cover of volume two is also lifting slightly. Interiors of the books are overall very clean with some marginal foxing throughout, or minor pencil notations in margins. First and last several pages show a bit more foxing than the interiors and the front endpapers of the three volumes have 18th or 19th century bookplates pasted down as well as some pencil notations or minor soiling. Books' bindings are tight and well intact and the books are complete with all pages present and none coming loose, detached or missing.

Volume I totals 456 pages, Volume II totals 480 pages, and Volume III totals 384 pages followed by an index for the three volumes. The three volumes together measures approximately 8 3/8 x 5 1/2 x 4 inches and weigh about 4 1/2 pounds.
