This vintage (almost antique) Weller Pottery Ollas Water Jug dates back to the 1930s and features an unglazed finish.

 Made of stoneware.

According to Worthpoint.net the jug was designed by Dorothy England in the 1930s, inspired by ollas made in North Africa. The unglazed base allows water to absorb and as it evaporates it will cool the contents.

Please note that the jug is not suitable to use as a vase for fresh flowers as the water will seep through the stoneware leaving a water stain on your wooden furniture.

Jug stands 10" Tall and is 6.6" in wide measured on the widest part of the belly. Weighs 2.35lbs.

Impressed on the bottom is "Weller, since 1872".

Condition:

No chips or cracks noted. Jug appears in its original condition....no repaint or touch ups....Jug is missing the lid.
