This is a gorgeous original doorman cap from the famous Royalton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. It has a leather interior band, elaborately embroidered lettering, and a now-illegible maker’s mark inside. The Royalton opened in 1898 at 44 W 44^th St. and continues to operate there today. More information about the hotel’s history can be found here. It has the wear and fraying expected of a vintage hat but is in overall great condition. This original piece would be a great addition to any collection.
