Chinese porcelain Famille Rose: (Fertility Buddha) measures Approx.. 7.5" tall 7.5" wide 4.5" deep

Chinese Famille porcelain, is porcelain decorated with multi colored enamel, which was first used in the late Kangxi period. These colors were known to the Chinese as yangcai because they were first introduced from Europe (circa 1685). By the time of the Yongzheng Dynasty (1722-35) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) these shades were favored over the translucent Famille Verte overglaze colors used in the past, and Famille Rose became particularly popular of this kingdom.

The history of the development of pottery in China began in the Neolithic period, in the middle of the Zhou Dynasty (5th-6th century BC). The heyday of Chinese pottery began during the Tang Dynasty (618-906 AD).

The production of hard porcelain, baked at a temperature of 1400-1460 ° C, begins in China during the reign of the Mongol Yuan Dynasty and culminates during the Ming Dynasty.

An excellent and collectible piece.
