NERO WAS KNOWN TO PLAY THE LYRE AND THIS "FIDDLING" WAS A RUMOR SINCE HE WASNT IN ROME WHEN THE FIRE STARTED. IT IS CLAIMED THAT NERO RUSHED BACK TO ROME AND USING HIS OWN MONEY LED THE EFFORT TO HELP ROME CITIZENS.

IN 68 A MILITARY COUP OVERTHREW NERO AND BEFORE HE COULD BE EXECUTED HE COMMITTED SUICIDE.
