Bali Batik Fabric.

Batik is an ancient fabric wax-resist dyeing tradition of Java, Indonesia. The art of batik is most highly developed and some of the best batiks in the world still made there. In Java, all the materials for the process are readily available—cotton and beeswax and plants from which different vegetable dyes are made. Our batik collection is produced in a unique cottage industry by specialist craftsmen and women who pass there skills down from generation to generation. Due to the distinctive colours and designs, there may be some loose dye on the surface of the fabric and some irregularities will occur as an inevitable feature of the hand printing process.

Width: 110cm
Composition: 100% Cotton.
Construction: Woven

We also have some Voile Batiks. These have been printed onto a extremely fine soft cotton base which is slightly sheer. The voile batiks have the prefix of ''VB'' on the drop down list.

We recommend hand washing separately in cold water taking extra care with dark colours. The dyes include vegetable dyes and some fading may occur after washing. Please do not tumble dry and use a cool iron on the reverse of the fabric for best results.
